Hey guys,

After some advice really. Been looking into a new car. I originally fancied a Clio 182 or a Leon cupra r.

I've now been looking at the following two cars anD I'm totally unsure which to go for. Both are priced similarly.

Impreza wrx sti type r/p1 and evo 5/6 gsr/tommi mak edition.

Unsure which to go for and wondered which people think is the better car? They are both quick so that doesn't matter. I just really like them both and unsure which to go for. I've narrowed it down to 4 imprezas I like and 4 evos. All within 50 miles of me so will go looking this weekend.

Cheers

Yeh, I don't want anything modified, I want either both standard if possible. I don't intend on modifying them and they won't be used as a daily commuter. It will be a Friday drive to work car and a weekend fun car. I'll have it regularly maintained and serviced and will try and do my bit if I can. I've heard imprezas are more practical but evos just insane!

my budget is £9000 absolute max. I will be using the cars 2 - 3 times a week max. Once to give it a 30 mile round trip to work and back and at the weekend for fun and going to places.

So about 30 - 70 miles a week'ish.

Isn't that comfortably Evo 8 money?

Also, I'm not quite sure about being so against modifications. With a car like a Evo or Impreza it is a large part of the fun :).

i know but unless they have the receipts or proof of modifications done i'd rather it be stock. I'd love a nicely modified one but wouldn't fancy one thats pushing 400bhp and the person bought it like that and has no idea whats in it...

Ive settled just for looks and advice on the forum to go for an EVO so i need to pick my four favourite now and go and view them.

Any suggestions welcome, Private or Trade upto £10k abso max.

been having a think and after totalling insurance, running costs and cost aside to find one in the UK (travelling costs etc).

I will be spending £7k absolute max and i am only interested in EVO V's or IV's (5's & 6's). The TME ones are £9000 - £10,000 so they are out of the question.

I still owuld consider an Impreza TYPE R, however i'd prefer an EVO over the two. Now then, i have seen a Type R Impreza for sale cheap with DCY and it has 3 months warranty and is about £5.5k.

DCY have an excellent reputation and are members of MLR & ScoobyNet.
