Evolution of a Mk2 Escort rally car

I used to look forward to getting my Impreza serviced. The garage really only did rally car prep but he'd service "only" normal Imprezas.

They looked as though they didn't have a penny between them, covered in oil and half smoked rollies permanently stuck to the side of their mouth.

Surrounded by Escorts, 205s, and the odd scoob. Many tens of thousands of pounds worth of rally cars. :D

As I've said before, the reason I chose a Chevette over an Escort was that (at the time), I could get one for 1/3-1/4 of the price of a mk2 in similar condition and that it would cost £500-750ish to get an Escort to handle like a Chevette (neutral and progressive rather than all-or-nothing). And I'm a skinflint :D

I've never found Escorts to be all or nothing to be honest, and believe you me I've owned a few! They are probably one of the most controllable cars I've ever driven when it comes to hanging the rear end out.
