Well after ordering our RR Evoque back in October we were 3 days from expected delivery and cancelled our order. We had a 4dr silver dynamic with a few options on it but decided to cancel and grab this one that came in on Thursday as the buyer who ordered it couldn't get financing for it.

It's a custom color (metallic black with red flecks) dynamic with white roof, 20" shadow wheels, pimento (black and red) interior, black headliner and all the trimmings. RR are sold out over here until July and have enough interest to fill orders to mid 2013 but supply is still really short with only 15 having been delivered in the Orlando area so far.

The amount of attention it attracts is pretty crazy for an SUV, in the two days we've owned it, its drawn easily as much attention if not more than my GT-R.

You know on those movies where the bus goes under a bridge and the top half gets ripped off, that's what it reminds me of!

Thumbs up for the GTR though!

Also the garage is lacking some serious man tools !

We have 3 garages, the other one has the stuff in it.

My parents are considering one of these at the moment, but my mum seems to prefer the freelander 2 :s dad is trying to sway her to this though. Did you try the Freelander 2 as well or was it a case of you wanted this one?

We didn't try the Freelander no. My parents have had a few RR Sport Superchargeds in the UK but my wife wanted something a little smaller. To be honest, the styling was a major factor, I always get all the fun cars, so she wanted something a little more exciting than a generic SUV.

I hope your dad wins, on looks there's no competition! I imagine visibility is easier in the freelander 2 though, the rear window looks tiny on the Evoque, something I'd be willing to live with! :)

The visibility is actually really good, especially since there are 5 or 6 cameras on the car to view all around it. The entire roof is glass too, not that it helps with useful visibility but it makes the car feel very spacious inside.

When the OP says 'we' I assume he means its for his wife, partner, other half etc....I don't see how the evoque is any different from other SUVs. Its not a hardcore offroad machine and its never intended to be (though its pretty decent as a 4x4 in any case). ;)

And jonnycoupe, forgot you work for jag lol :D

Spot on, its for my wife more than me. It is however a car I'll drive happily, kinda fits in with the edgy styling the GTR has.

Looks good!

How do you like the colour? I've got a Freelander on order in that colour and I'm intrigued as to what it's really going to look like! :)

I never would have picked it out of the list when ordering it because the swatches I've seen of it dont do it any justice at all. When we saw it in the showroom however, it was a different story; I think you'll be very pleased with your choice.

personally, i'd have gone for a regular range rover and wouldn't have gotten a gtr in red but black or silver (i assume they do them in silver). but props OP, you're obviously doing something right and certainly own some top stuff.

That's the beauty of choice and opinion :). My parents in the past 10 years have probably had 8 or 9 full size/sport superchargeds. I can tell you my wife has no need for anything that large or powerful and to be honest the RR is hardly a pretty car is it? The Evoque has far more presence.

As for the GTR, black is the most common colour over here and I personally find the grey boring on the car. Silver is a $3k option that is impossible to paint match if it gets scratched and as such isnt particularly desirable. I'm not paying $3k for a generic colour!
