Some, if not most people, view rats as pests and should be offered no quarter when it comes to killing them.... then again, there are some who keeps them as pets....

Another argument is that the rat didnt suffer, since it was decapitated instantly, much like in a mousetrap...

If you want to prosecute this chap, then ozzy osbourne should be done as well for his infamous "bat biting"..... incident.... or are we all guilty of pandering to emotion or applying double standards?

No, and where has this non sequitur arrived from? The video of the mouse has not been posted here, the issue has been raised. Likewise, you wouldn't post videos of violent pornography, but you are free to raise the issue for discussion.

It also sets a platform of potential influence for future depraved acts of cruelty. At least this one was quick, but it doesn't make it right.

Except he didn't actually do it, it was a stage prop.
