Ex-Russian Spy Dies.

it occured to me last night that potentially he could have recovered and been relocated / given a new identity by the british government in exchange for fun knowledge ;)

most likely not tho, seems a tad odd that they can't figure out what killed him tho imo, can't be that many things that destroy your bone marrow damage your kidneys and make your heart explode slowly ...

Wasn't he an 'ex - spy' also (anyone know how long he's been out of the spying game?
I wonder how many people that know interesting things about Putin are whacked each year...

Clearly but the question is whether its the government or some organisation wants to create that trend in order for us to think its the government.

Not sure, but it certainly makes me wary of shooting my mouth off about politicians and organised crime in Russia ...

Dodgy Sushi TBH!

Of course they bumped him off, problem is Russia has too much oil and gas for this to poisen foreign relations, he was a spy (OK ex spy) so to be honest surely that's one of the dangers of the job (I'm sure you make some very powerful enemies).

Stuff straight out of a Spy novel with a bad ending.

Sounds more like the beginning to me.

A Russian journalist murdered, an ex-spy "murdered" while looking into journalists murder with possible links to Russian spies (or ex-KGB with a few favours owed). Unfortunately not enough evidence to link it to the Kremlin.

The conspiracy nuts are going to love this for years to come.

I am supprised we haven't had any of that brigade in here with some of their ideas.

I'm sure there are Russian mafia types who would happily bump someone off for the right amount of cash, so the Russian government would simply pay them to do the dirty work.

didnt they use the bulgarians heavily for things they wanted doing, but didnt want knowledge of?

i'm amazed anybody would think the russians WOULD own up to this tbh. Assumed intent is much much worse than ACTUAL proof, and as such has and will happen for years.

Was the russians tbh, they have a history of this.

Remember when a russian submarine got stuck and all the men died, One of the mothers started shouting at a commander during some inquest, A nod and a wink later she was stuck with a needle and taken away, all caught on camera.

They dont like it when people stand up to them, just like most bullies/liars

That was said to be in the cold war days but even then, specialisations on basis of nationality such as Bulgarians for assasinations, Czechs for industrial sabotage etc werent clear cut thing. Dont forget that for assasination missions, the Soviets used to have some sort of alpha squad of Spetsnaz and that this still exists today so they hardly need someone else to do their job.

Putin was a KGB agent for years and went on to tun it's successor, the FSB. He will have both skeletons in his closet and know every propaganda trick in the book. He will also know every ' threat reduction ' trick in the book.

Not that he or the FSB are responsible ..........

I wonder what these "foreign objects" are that were seen in his intestine on the x-ray? I guess they will know soon as the post mortem will be carried out.

Whatever the cause, this will be played out behind closed doors. The British government will be just as keen to keep as quiet as the Russians are. In my extremely humble all my own opinion, the fact that we even know anything means he really wasnt enormously important in the grand scheme of things.

So what do you think happens now.

1 - long lost relative appears to claim body and cremation immediately.

2 - body snatched and replaced with another.

I remember on an old Frank Skinner video I've got where he says about outrageous stuff - "Only in America" - not always eh who needs James Bond movies we've got Sky news :)

I remember seeing that. I thought it was Putin speaking at some service?

i thought it wasnt that they couldn't do it, more they didnt want to be traced/held responsible for it, and could thus plausibly deny it.
