I have an old ocuk atx case (globalwin 802 oldschool) and the first thing I did was buy some dynamat and line the insides. The stuff smelled terrible for a while but it certainly done the trick noise wise. As for heat... nothing changed, stayed the same
Am I right in thinking that Akasa paxmate stuff is like felt, but with glue on one side so it sticks?
Not quite, its a closed cell foam... But its far too thin to be of any benefit for sound reduction purposes. Foams tend to only work at eliminating a small range of frequencies anyway, but this stuff is way to thin to be useful.
