It shouldn't be a misspelling of anything and stands by itself as a word (although it is a peculiarity of Scotland and Northern England apparantly), it simply means that it is "outside of" or "beyond" e.g. "that is outwith the scope of this tribunal" meaning that they have no power to deal with it, beyond their ability.

I have exams as well - in May.... Taken 4 already in January so i don't have to worry about them anymore!

In 5-8 weeks for my finals I have:

Optimisation and Life History Theories (Evolution)
Flowering Plants
Host-Parasite Interactions
Plant Development
Agricultural Biotechnology
Mammalian Ecology and Sociobiology

Oh god, its so so hard. Been cranking out the 9am-10/11pm with just food breaks already.

Oh, and good luck with 'memory' on experimental design and problem solving questions (half of my examinations).

Also i'm not saying it's all stats like i mentioned. It's just crap that the people who write the books are assumed super-beings and nothing is questioned, debated or discussed. It's just "He said this. Memorise it, take notes, then remember to quote it in your exam".

School standards have been slipping for years, government say there's such a huge pass rate because children are getting smarter lol or recieving awesome education. I fear we'll never get to see the minds of the early/mid 20th century again.

Entirely not true for history, classics and to a lesser extent Psychology at the very least. Those are the ones I do for A level anyhow.

I took 4 core units of psychology at uni and got an average of 86% (That's damn high for uni work!) having never studied it before just by learning a few facts the night before.
