Excel 2007 charts issue

Got a weird issue with Excel 2007. A user at work is trying to open some files that have some sheets which are just individual charts. Upon opening the file and clicking on the chart's tab, you get what looks like the chart window but there is absolutely nothing there where the chart should be. Not an empty white box, nothing at all. The zoom level is at 10%, but changing that makes no difference.

I've tried loads of things to try and get this working again. Installed Service Pack 3. Ran Office Diagnostics. Read about an issue with the default printer causing the same symptoms so changed the default printer. Restarted the print spooler service. Nothing worked.

Has anyone had the same issue or does anyone have any ideas? For reference, the computer with the problem is running XP 64 bit. And yes, the files open correctly on my computer. :D

If you change the workbook view on the view tab to page layout or page break preview, does this have any effect?

I'd probably try creating a brand new Excel file and copying the charts over on the good PC, then seeing if the XP PC can now see the charts.
