Excel gurus could ya help me out
One of my jobs at work is to plug date of births into a huge Excel spreadsheet. However I have to type the / as the seperator which adds time. I was wondering if there was a way to tell Excel to insert the / itself after the first two digits and then after the next two digits.
So right now I have to type this:
22 forward slash key 04 forward slash key 76
which gives me:
22/04/1976
What I wanna do is just type:
press Enter...
and Excel automatically plugs in the / marks:
I know it dont sound like a big deal but I enter hundreds of dates and this method would be really rapid.
I did try the Format function in Excel and told it to treat that column as dates but I end up with these:
##############

Thanks for any tips!
