I have a spreadsheet with multiple lookups to various network drives at work.

Sometimes when I set up a link it does it as Drive name\folder\file which all seems to work fine.
However other links it seems to do it to the Network Server drive path which doesn’t update properly and if I’m updating a field where the content is password protected it prompts me for a password for every lookup rather than registering that they’re all from the same spreadsheet.

Any ideas how I can update these links? Examples below of the 2 file paths

Assuming 2007 and above, can't you just go to this menu:

ca8Hx.jpg

and change the source for both to be the same? My links work fine this way.

I'm in 2010.

Unfortunately it seems that i can do that and then when i save and close, then when i re-open the spreadsheet its resorted to the old links :(

Sorted!!

It seems that it was down to the way i had the shortcut to the drive set up in my Favourite Links.

When i navigated to the drive through my computer it worked fine and used the correct link in the link tables.

However my shortcut to the drive had a target of "UKMANFP01....." and therefore included this in the link database which caused the files to not pick up properly. Changed this shortcut target to the drive letter and it works.

Not quite sure why it doesnt register them as one and the same but for some reason it doesn't.

Now i get to individually go into about 40 office budget files and manually update links to 15 tables in each :(
