might seem a little basic but, does anyone know a good way of turning an excel (2003) graph into an image preferably jpeg? if you just copy and paste into another program the quality seems very reduced! the only other thing i've tried is printing to image writer, but this only outputs in .mdi or a black and white .tif both of which are also useless for turning into a jpeg! any ideas??

abit of a odd way, but perhaps copy it into a word document? and then expand to fit your needs? - would that be any good?

yeah it's odd copying to word it keeps the image quality but copy it from there and it is the same as from excel. I really need it as an image because it's going into a Latex document, and Latex doesnt seem to like .tif because of the pixel scaling and it doent read .mdi. any other ideas?

Copy in excel

"Paste special" into Word - as "Picture(Enhanced metafile)" - looks good quality to me!

Can then be copied into Paint Shop Pro or similar.

for me that still reduces the quality (using photoshop) but did give me an idea... i copied it using the method you suggested into powerpoint, then right clicked chose "save picture as" then saved it as a .gif. (did try jpeg but it didn't like the transparency from what i could tell) and that seemed to give a better quality output!

still not perfect though, i'm using size 4 "+" as points and for some they seem to distort very slightly, like two points overlapping but slighty off centre, very strange...

Just realised you can copy from excel (wiyj graph highlighted) and then paste straight into graphics prog. If I did this into Paint Shop Pro you can chose a large image - e.g. 1000 pixels and get good quality at normal sizes.

Hmmm.. I can't seem to do it in photoshop without losing quality, for example the font for the scale isn't smooth and becomes quite pixelated. Maybe PSP is better at handling copies from office programs?
