Excel help please

I have a problem I'd like an answer for please.
In row B I want to put model numbers and in row D I want the same linked number BUT if I don't write anything in row B then I don't want to see a ZERO in row D.

I copied row B and did a PASTE SPECIAL -> PASTE LINK in row D.
I've also formatted the two rows in both General and Text but nothing seems to work.

What if you put a ' in row B?

That seems to get rid of it...

A full stop works too but I would have to do this in so many cells it would be easier if nothing is put in at all.

In cell D2

=IF(B2="","0",B2)

Then paste down for the rest of the rows

In cell D2, set the forumla as:-

=IF(ISBLANK(B2),"",B2)

Then paste the forumla down the rest of the rows as required.

Tools > Options > untick 'Zero values'

Excellent (as long as it doesn't bugger anything else up on the spreadsheet).
