excel - one drive issue?

This happened once before and I had to change the file name and re upload.
There must be a proper way to rectify this.

Upload failed, someone updated the server copy and it's not possible to upload changes now
If I press keep my version, I can't upload it.
If I press keep server version, it undoes the changes and I still can't upload.

What causes this and is there a fix? Or do I really have to change file name, delete old file, then change the file name back.

The solution is not to use excel for multiple user documents as it has no real concurrent user management.

There are a few workarounds, but they pretty much all rely either on managing user behaviour, or using something like SharePoint to manage check out functionality but this doesn't really help in allowing multiple users, it stops them instead.

Standard one drive doesn't have a checkout facility so the only solution I can see would be to check the settings of the app on your phone to see if you can turn off autosaving.

Thanks, that's pretty darn rubbish. Can't see nay obvious settings.
Wonder if the wp10 preview in Feb will solve the issue. although it only happens once in a while.
