Excel Question (IF STATEMENTS)

I have colls of data and need to produced a third based on the data.

If col A = col B output = 1
If col A > col B output = 3
If col A < col B output = 0

Yes its a leauge result spreadsheet (if you did not already guess)

If there any way to do this is excel ?

=IF(A1=B1,1,IF(A1>B1,3,IF(A1<B1,0)))

For soe reason I cant get it to work. Have noted it tho and will give it a go tommorrow.

I tried it with some sample data and it worked fine, make sure the all the row types are general.

You dont need 3 nested IFs because the last condition must be true if the others are false

=IF(A1=B1,1,IF(A1>B1,3,0))

You can also use

=(A1=B1)*1+(A1>B1)*3

=(A1=B1)*1+(A1>B1)*3

Gives you 4 points for a draw.

dont know what went wrong but just test it again and it's ok now.
