Excellent fibre deal from Vodafone

Just tried Sam knows

Downstream Min 74mb, max 80mb

Upstream min 19mb, max 20mb

How accurate is it though?

Thanks again

Use the ISP's checker rather than a generic one.
The ISP will give you a "guaranteed minimum" along with the "expected up's and down's". Why is this important?
Because, if you are going for an 80mb connection and the generic tester says 74mb but the ISP say "guaranteed minimum 60mb" then until that speed is less than 60mb your connection is deemed to be working as expected.

Just tried Vodafone speed and available checker

Anybody have any comments on Vodafone customer service? Had a bit of a fiasco with BT disconnecting my line accidentally while putting in a neighbour's line which made me think of switching.

With those details you are more likely than not going to sync at the highest possible speed and even if not, Vodafone are guaranteeing you at least 67mb (which is only 9mb lower that the maximum anyway).

Certainly got to be worth considering.

Maximum speed is 78 Mb/s, not 76 Mb/s. I assume the 76 Mb/s figure comes from some "certain percentage of customers must be able to get this speed" advertising rule, since every ISP uses it.

As mentioned in the other Vf thread, when I had to call them I got straight through to someone who listened properly to the issue, understood what i'd tried to do to fix it and wasn't reading from a designated script.
