Excessive physical memory usage

Just running chrome.. Laptop barely has anything on it, done the standard stripping, ran ccleaner, can't figure this out.

w7 on an intel atom

Just been handed this laptop from the gf, its old, pink and tiny. Just didn't think 1gb would be soaked up from the off :/
 
Completely un-intentionality ignored the processes! Ahhh i had a program on my system a while back that shut down all unnecessary processes but can't for the life of me remember it's name :(
