Hello,

Dad drove to Poland to fix some things in his Corolla, he ended up getting a whole engine revision + new headgasket, a new clutch and fixing of the brakes ( his brake line broke there on a speed bump :(), however since all that the car is more noisy and shakes more inside, especially at low revs. The steering wheel, number plate, and everything that's slightly loose vibrates and it's very noisy inside, even though you can't hear any unstandard vibrations at all under the hood or outside ( so outside it's just as silent as usual, nothing special to hear at all, it's just the inside of the car which is much noisier than before) ... There doesn't appear to be anything wrong mechanically with the car and he's driven about 2000km since the work was done on the car. The engine pulls nicely too on both petrol and lpg and doesn't have any trouble...

What could they have done which makes the car vibrate more, could they have mounted the engine wrong somehow making everything on the car vibrate with it ?

It's nothing at the wheels or discs, the bearings and discs are okay it just happens when the engine is running, eg. idling...

Was going to say, that's the first thing that springs into my mind - if they've put new engine mounts in it could well be the cause. Either it's because they're new or in some instances they can be refitted the wrong way - but I'd go for the "new" option first.

I put some new engine mounts on one of mine and the vibration was unreal, made from a much harder rubber than the originals. It would rock the car at idle :D

After a few thousand miles it settled down and was back to how it was :)

Would they be broken or simply not fitted correctly?
If broken, would all of them be shot or perhaps just 1 or 2 ( what's usually the case with this I mean)?
Would it be a doable DIY job or does it need to go to a garage ?

EDIT:
Didn't see your reply there yet lashout,
Yeah it happens when the car is standing still, they haven't put a new engine in but they have revised it and changed the headgasket as one of the cils had a small leak in it...

The car has driven all the way back from warsaw + a few trips in the NL since it has been done, no signs of it getting better or anything...
