We are just getting around to installing this on our Exchange 2010 boxes.
We are doing them one at a time. We started the first server installing this update around 2.5hrs ago.
It still seems to be going. The machine is still responding and nothing has "hung".
Just wondered if anyone else has installed this patch and noticed it takes a rather long time to complete?

From memory it was quite a while on our production servers, in some cases about 20 minutes. Not as long as you are experiencing.

Anything in the event logs?

I think we have found the problem.
I decided to cancel the installation and download the update manually.
Attempted to install and it complained about our "Automatic mail signature adding software" locking files that needed to be updated and we needed to manually stop the services.

For some reason the "Windows Update" with this patch wasn't throwing up that error - so we waited 3hrs and it appeared to be still going.
Manually we got the error within a minute :)

You used windows update to apply it? *shudders*

We always download them manually and apply. Just feels more controlled :) Well done on finding the problem!

We're using:
Exclaimer Mail Disclaimer
http://www.exclaimer.com/products/mail-disclaimers/Default.aspx

I'm not too keen on having to use such software, but our marketing team wanted any email leaving our building to include details of the fact we would be at IBC shortly.

The worst thing about the software is that it needs to run on every machine in your Exchange 2010 setup.
So for us that is a server in China, a server in Sweden.
Two servers in the UK and two CAS servers in the UK.

Our marketing people wanted this horrible image including.
I loath "large signatures" but at the end of the day - we're only here to serve :)
