Hi Guys

Been asked to look at outsourcing our email accounts, think we have approx 400 accounts (could be more or less) intermedia has popped up on here a few times, are they any others I should be looking at?

Any advice or recommendations would be grate

Many thanks

Mart

I use Simply Mail Solutions for my personal hosted exchange email account after getting numerous recommendations for them - not had any issues at all in the ~9months I've been with them. I've asked a few questions to tech support and they have always responded within the hour.

They were also the cheapest for Exchange hosting that I could find, most people being ~£1 more per mailbox :)

That's cheap I'll check them out thanks :)

Any others chaps?

I think cobweb get recommended on here a lot (think some members work there?).

We use Star for some hosted accounts at work.

We use Cobweb and generally they're pretty good.

We also use a smaller company - www.xe2.co.uk who are also pretty good :)

Got several thousand accounts on each platform, can't fault them both in terms of downtime. Support-wise, Xe2 probably have it (seeing as they're smaller). But then Cobweb have a much larger platform with a much more advanced admin portal (which they've just upgraded since their migration to Exchange 2007).

Great stuff thanks

Euology of this forum works for Cobweb and myself and Khaaan! used to work there too. However, it's been years for us so best ask Euology if you have any Cobweb related enquiries.

In my time there they hosted companies with 1000's of mailboxes so I think 400 shouldn't be a problem. :)

Got a quote waiting for me in my inbox when I get into work tomorrow from Cobweb so looking forward to seeing what they can do for us :)

Hi,

I do indeed work for Cobweb, if you're prepared to do more of the end user support you can get cheaper prices, that's probably what it boils down to in the end, also longer contract means further discounts on pricing. This on top of Outlook licensing, we offer it as a download but you don't need to buy it from us if you have your own licensing already.

The prices we offer are pretty competitive though, maybe not the *absolute* cheapest but you get a lot for your money. The admin portal is pretty straight forward to use, and Message Labs antispam is very good in my experience. If you went to ML directly they would charge you a lot more than we do! Mailbox servers are all run on clusters and we take regular backups with DPM, so HA/DR isn't an issue. Currently you would be provisioned on to our Exchange 2007 servers, but over the next few months we're looking to provision onto Exchange 2010 as well.

We currently have a bit over 50000 mailboxes, but that number is increasing all the time. So much so that we only put in two new backends about a month ago and they're already filling up pretty quick :P
