Exchange server not receiving external emails ?

Hi,

Currently migrating from Groupwise to Exchange and all going ok. Only slight issue is that the new Exchange users are not receiving any external emails.

Currently they come into the Groupwise Postoffice and then get redirected out into the Exchange server. however they just don't appear.

Any ideas where I should start looking, just starting to get the on with Exchange, been told to increase logs and go through them ???

What kind of routing do you have from the postoffice to the exchange box? What lies between them?

We had major problems routing internally from groupwise to exchange, but not the other way around, any mails sent from a groupwise account to an exchange account had to be sent out then back in, however we did have a different pipe for the exchange box. And they were on two different networks 130.x.x.x and 10.x.x.x

Do you run an internal smart host? Can you make it so the exchange box does all your SMTP connector handling?
 
thanks, internal routing works fine between the 2 mail systems. On the Groupwise server there is a Exchange gateway

and on the exchange server there is a groupwise connector....

think that's right, as I didn't actually set it all up, just trying to get it fixed now !

Has the correct recipient policy for the external domain been set up on the exchange server?
