I have added fans to a steering wheel, 7 in total and have ordered this HDD-POWER-SUPPLY-AC-12V-5V-2A-FOR-HARD-DRIVE-MOLEX
This looked great but sadly as it has a plastic part for pin 2 instead of a connection it just wont work for what i need, its small and light hence the reason i went for it.
It has pins in 1,3,4
1 +12v
2 nothing ( plastic )
3 GND
4 +5v
So the 2amp psu will not power any of my fans as i need 1 and 2 for 12v, it wuill power my fans if i hook up to 1 and 3 but this is'nt very strong and is more like 5v, this is powering one fan to test so psu is'nt being overpowered, it cost £5
So i'm extremely stuck at the mo, i do'nt want a £20 psu attached to my racing simrig.
Fans are all hooked upto a 4 way fan splitter and they all work fine when using the 1 and 2 from the pc molex for 12v but this means pc side needs tobe opened and i dont like pc attached to metal cockpit just incase !
Any body any ideas
