Exhaust welding -cost?

My exhaust has started blowing, it looks like the weld where the front pipe joins the first silencer has started to give up

My mate can do it on friday, but he's 20 miles away and the weather doesn't look promising!

Roughly how much do you think i'd be charged to have it done?

Not a lot, any more than £20 and I wouldn't bother.

it's the only thing i know that needs doing for the MOT so i might get a local place to do it then bang it through.

How bad is the blow? It might well pass (it should only fail if emissions are outside limits or the blow is deemed excessive by the tester)

Let's just say i don't want to drive it too far because i think it's about to fall off! The pipe isn't rotten it's just the weld, but there seems to be an awful lot relying on the weld and i can't see any missing clips or U bolts.
