Expensive Speakers - Worth it?

Hello all,

I have a cheap Dell speakers that came with my old Dell PC for free(2005 that was). And atm I'm using them. However, I'm feeling that I need to change them. Nothing overkill such as 5.1 or 7.1. I am thinking of 2.0.

Now, the thing is I'm really happy with those current "cheap" speakers. And, I have no idea what advantage(s) those more expensive speakers are gonna give me.

The one, I am thinking of getting are those:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...gaworks T20 2.0 Speaker System (51MF1545AA002)

So, my question is, if I buy those. Will I go WOW, the sound is so much clearer. I don't have a sound card, only built-in. I listen to music and play games mostly.

Or do you think, I should I stick with another cheap speakers? I like the look of the above.

Thanks

Need Good Sound source (ie card) and Speakers IMO.

1 aint much good without the other being good.

The T20's and T40's are highly rated.

I'd recommend the Acoustic Energy Aego M's 2.1 Setup
Really a beautiful set of speakers, I moved from a 2.0 Bose, and I also bought SoundBlaster Audigy Sound card, as helmutcheese said you'd really need a decent sound card if you want to have some crisp sound since you're spending 50+ quid on some speakers.

Argh that's some expensive stuff man  So, from what I understand, buying those speakers without a sound card is kind of a waste?

I don't really want a sub-woofer, because I'm going to uni, and I don't want to carry this thing. And I don't know how much room I will have.

Thanks for the input though.

Sorry to be so obvious, but don't forget you need good ears for good speakers ;) Peoples hearing can vary wildly, and sadly it is something that declines with age. Some people might have a hard time discerning between a set of cracking speakers and some budget ones.
