I've got a dedicated server with Kimsufi, it doesn't perform any duties that are too critical (Email, OwnCloud, VPN) which had three random reboots yesterday morning.

I can definitely say they were not user initiated as my security is tighter than a ducks backside. The only way in is through my VPN or my home IP address with SSH on a non standard port and wasn't initiated from the Kimsufi manager.

They've asked me to boot into rescue pro and perform some tests of which its looking like RAM errors, has anyone had any experiences in getting them to replace faulty hardware?

I think the rescue pro tool had some fairly good diagnostics in it last time i used it but I can't comment on their customer service. I'd defiantly be keeping backups!

Anything in the log files?

1) Open ticket
2) Provide good evidence of hardware failure
3) Wait for replacement

KIA pretty much nailed it.

Kimsufi stuff, being one of the more budget lines of dedis that OVH offer tend to not be supported quite so pro-actively. If you provide clear evidence of a hardware fault and replication steps (or similar if it's intermittent) they will replace the hardware however.

No errors logged or running their hardware tests so I'm not sure what was with the three random reboots. Been fine ever since though
