If you have seen any interesting VR videos around, please post them up. I sometimes see stuff that's been around for ages but I didn't know about so wanted to have a place where people could post up interesting videos on VR progress.

(To embed youtube videos use: [ youtube ] Video link [ / youtube]

Here's a few from me:

Mod Box (A little like Garry's Mod in VR):

FSX with Leap Motion:

Project Cars:

Archery (Just looks like fun. :) )

Holoportation: virtual 3D teleportation in real-time (Microsoft Research):

Valve Intro for the Vive:

Developer playing around with weapons:

Good idea for thread. Ive done a ton of demos/games will post asap. :D

a quick note - project cars does not look as good in VR as that youtube video you posted. It looks good yeah but with that level of res and clarity. I'm assuming its someone playing on a monitor.

wow - i am very impressed by that youtube video if it is the CV1.

How bad does pcars look on the rift? Its trwlly the only reason I'm keeping my rift tbh.

Is it low res and low texture?

I ran it on my DK2 and thought it was excellent. Shadows got funky with certain settings but there's been a big update I haven't tried (I'm hoping it's nearer what they show in their new video, but I guess we'll have to wait to see the truth). I'd imagine with the CV1 and update it'll be awesome and the DK2 will benefit from it too. The only slight drawback of the DK2 is seeing the track in the distance as corners come up, it's not a big thing at all but the resolution is juuuuust a tiny bit low res to be perfect. Same goes for AC to though.

Personally I preferred Assetto Corsa, I thought the driving model and graphics were better overall although the rain effects in PCars is really cool.

Here's me trying out AC on the DK2 (I have a G27 now, that Microsoft wheel was quite something!):

(3770K @ 4.5, GTX780, 16GB RAM)

Drawing/Painting/Creating in VR really interests me

Tiltbrush with Vive

Would this be the thread for me to show off Dreams VR? Not sure if there are many videos that directly show off that environment in VR but it should be something damn interesting...

ps3ud0

That's great. Thanks for sharing.

Ive had a g25 I got second hand off an old work mate 5 years ago. Still rocking it now. Well worth the£100.

Might add AC to my collection

Just to update my last post. Errr sorta a retraction haha :o. that youtube video actually is the CV1 playing Project Cars (its posted by the developers of the game and why would they post a monitor display version when announcing it for the CV1?) and **** me it looks fabulous! In the DK2 you do not get that level of clarity/crispness/resolution. So i am pretty stoked to play this in the CV1!

my bad! :D

I would thoroughly recommend anyone with a Rift or Vive picking up the Apollo 11 VR Experience. I haven't tried the finished version yet, but the BETA version was easily the best thing I've experienced in VR.

My bad on Assetto Corsa too, seems they're not supporting VR for a while. One of the devs tweeted last night saying that it's on the list of things to do. Big shame as when it was running on the DK2 it was one of my favourite experiences.

Having finally got the oculus store working and installing stuff correctly (turn off anti virus!!!) I played some of the apps and games available for free (that work on the DK2) and wow, I'm impressed. I haven't spent so long in my DK2 for months!
Can recommend the Farlands game and the demos in another free experience thing (can't remember the name). There's one with a model village with so much happening in it. Spent a good long while watching the little cars, planes and people wandering around.

Havent managed to get mine setup. Its an absolute mare to setup. At the configure rift screen my Headset HDMI and Headset USB icons are still spinning/detecting. All worked fine before 1.3 lol :(

edit: got it partially working. skipped most of the configuration and now i saw the intro demos oculus shows. Not bad i guess. Have only tried one full game on it so far (subnautica) and that is failing miserably to load (even though its a core title) but hey its alll a work in progress right :)

man that ModBox looks awesome, ppl can actualy make mini games in it, and if the Devs keep adding new objects and new behaviors, ppl can really make some complexe games, i can see someone making a basic Moba out of that.
now thats sandboxing.
this is the VR game that has the most potential so far, a lot of revenue through DLCs, long life span for users, great idea if the studio play their cards right.
