Opt out doesn't remotely imply legal consent.
Anyway, it matters not, it is the US, the lawyers will win either way.

I recall watching a documentary several years ago about surgeons in Russia being forced to use a similar technique to carry out heart surgery, due to a lack of the proper anaesthetics brought about by the Soviet collapse in the early 90's.

Nice to see it finally coming to human trials.
Anyone see the super oxygenated syringes as well, bloody awesome stuff. Just by pass the lungs an inject a patient to give you time.

Hardly new.

The benefit of being cooled down has been noted as far back as World War I when the soldiers left outside in the cold were more likely to survive than ones treated immediately.
