Explain Episode 2

Does anyone here who has played episode 2 claim to understand what goes on in it?

My memory is hazy this is what I remember - meeting a new scientist, blasting a rocket into space, meeting these new alien creatures with sucker pods and *someone* dying.

Now I might just reinstall the thing and see if I can make head nor tails of it this time, but I really don't think I could. The story is just...nonsensical.

Anyone who wants to step up and provide a explanation then go for it.

I think ep2 is one of those things like metal gear solid where you're not "supposed" to "get it", just make your own theories up.

Ahh makes sence now episode 2 could mean a number of things now. e.g the sam n max episodic games, BTTF, Tales form monkey Island etc...

In episode 2 the plot is the combine used the energy from the destruction of the citadel to create a massive super portal just before you escaped in episode 1 you took some critical information that could lead to the portals destruction hence you need to get to the resistance base in order to create and launch a device that could collapse the portal via rocket.
 
Oh I see, somewhere along the road when youre in a cavern for some reason fighting ant lions that information got lost.

I'll reinstall I clearly simply need to freshen up, my memory is just fuzzy thats all.
 
In your attempt to get that information to the resistance base you have to go through an old mine which is full of Ant Lions. Alyx gets injured, Vortigaunts heal her, G-Man freaks the **** out of you.

Some driving to the base with some ambushes from the Combine along the way. More driving and you end up in a valley with a Strider activating in front of you! You get rescued and then take part in a race. You hand over the information, they build the final parts of the rocket.

You get shown a new weapon and learn how to bring down Striders quickly and efficiently. You try several times and fail a bit. Eventually you make it through, the rocket launches the portal is closed and Edith Mossman makes a transmission!

They found the ship that Aperture Science was playing with before it disappeared!

Everyone is stunned! Several people try to tell you what to do. You prepare to go to the site via helicopter but things go wrong!
 
I tried reading that and wonder if I'm on a foreign overclockers website that got translated with bablefish and spat out a load of randomly sequenced words.

TBH just reinstall all three and book a day of work :D Epic games.
