I think I understand timings, but what difference does timings make under normal use and gaming, and can you overpay for modules that have very tight timings and you wouldn't notice the difference?

These seem good value but at 48 are the timings a bit too high for AMD system?

compared to the 32GB kit, timings are faster

Not much, within the same frequency it is usually just a few %, but some CPUs are more sensitive to this than others (X3D CPUs care less about memory than non-X3D).

It also depends what you're doing, e.g. low res/setting competitive esports gaming will be more responsive to RAM speed than high res/setting single player gaming.

Crucial Pro (non-OC) are designed to work without XMP/EXPO, that's usually why the timings are so loose on them. This kit does have XMP/EXPO profiles, but they've just copied the JEDEC settings.

If you plan to run the 48GB modules, I'd check if your chosen motherboard has BIOS updates supporting 24GB/48GB modules. The newer X870/X870E boards I'd expect to be fine, especially if they state support for 192GB.

Yup, a lot of high-end RAM is way past the point of diminishing returns and the money better invested in the CPU or the graphics card. Something like 6000 C30 is fine though, since the cost isn't that high over slower memory.

cheers.
According to the qvl it says CMK48GX5M2E6000C36 is supported, but on corsair site it says that's XMP

But using the corsair selector it says CMK48GX5M2B6000Z30 is right. But that isn't in the motherboard QVL!

WHAT A MESS LOL

That's fine, yeah, there are XMP kits on the QVL of AMD boards.

6000 C30 kits are mostly (all?) AMD EXPO I think, because this has been considered the optimal speed for AM5 since it launched.
