I have a Dell Dimension 5000 with SATA HD installed. (I know its a Dell
)
Also had a phillips external 160GB HD which stopped working, tried reinstalling etc with no luck. It powered up but just did not register with the PC. I've tried removing the HD which is a Hitachi Deskstar BTW and removing the opticals to hook up via IDE but it still does not show up under My Computer although it shows in the Device Manager. It powers up and spins OK as far as I can tell.
Any ideas
