Hi ppl,

My mate has just bought a nice TV and wants an ext HDD to store and play his films from via his WDTV.

He had just ordered and WD Elements 1TB for around £55.

Now I said it might be better to buy an enclosure and use a Samsung F3 1TB for proabably a bit more like £70.

We'll say £70 is his max incl VAT + delivery - what would you suggest?

Can you recommend a really good enclosure for 3.5" HDD that is £20 or less so his total cost is £70?

I kinda mentionedthe Antec one---> Antec USB 2.0 Hard Drive Enclosure upto 1TB 3.5" SATA Hard Drives

Anyone know enclosures well?

Or should he keep things simpler and just stick with the WD Elements?

Cheers !!

Don't get Seagate expansions, v high failure rates.

WD should be a safe bet, there have been lots of 2tB ones for around £100 recently on various specials. Personally I'd probably get an all in one unit rather than putting two things together....

Stick with either the WD or check out the offer we have on the Buffalo 1TB JustStore for £49.49. Buffalo use a mix of drives so you may even get a Samsung anyway!
