Just got BT Vision unlimited and BT Infinity. I've got 2 BT Vision remotes (1 sent in error), what is the best option for me to extend BT Vision to a bedroom?

The Vision box is currently connected to my TV via HDMI

Hi,
I cant help regarding the remotes but i am looking at BT Vision and was wondering if you can help?

With BT do you get all 5 "Sky Sports" channels? and are they in HD?

Thanks

There's a number of ways you could do this. It depends on whether you want (or need) HD quality in the bedroom and how easy it is to get cables between the two points...

  • *HDMI splitter + long HDMI cable
  • *HDMI splitter + HDMI baluns with Cat5 or Cat6 cable
  • HDMI splitter + HDMI baluns with integrated IR control with Cat5 or Cat6 cable
  • *RGB Scart lead (<up to 10m)
  • *Composite SCART lead (up to 50m)
  • *RF cable (up to 50m)
  • Video sender - Composite & stereo audio
  • Video sender - HDMI

Most require an additional bit of kit to relay the IR control back to the box downstairs. I've starred (*) the ones that do.

IR control systems can also be wireless or wired. If wired, then you'll need to run an extra cable for that as well except with the RF cable connection. There's a neat little box of tricks a bit like a Sky eye but for universal use. It's less than £30 and uses the same coax cable that carries the TV signals up to transport control signals back down.

Thanks went for the Nikkai 5.8 ghz 'mini' wireless senders, works a treat I'm using the spare remote in the bedroom.

I'm not a big sports person so just have ESPN which came with it. I had Sky for 1 year previously and prefer BT Vision with Infinity because I can just find something I like (film/tv show/comedy stand ups etc) then watch it. I never used to remember to record things, and my internet was too slow to stream Sky Anytime (which had a very poor interface anyway)
