Hi,

I want to buy an Asus Xonar DX, however it will not fit into the PCIE slot above the graphics card, and the graphics card covers up the two PCIE slots below it :(

I would like to keep the card for a good 5+ years, so would prefer to not get the PCI version as PCI slots may start to go the way of ISA soon?

If possible I would prefer something like a ribbon cable with a PCIE male plug on one end, and a PCIE female plug on the other end, allowing the card to be placed somewhere else in the case.
Can anyone recommend something cheap like that?

Thanks,

I could get the PCI version, but how soon are PCI slots going to start disappearing from motherboards? The soundcard isn't something that needs to be upgraded very often, I would hope it can last a good few years/motherboard changes.
