Extending BT Homehub connection

My uncle has really bad wireless reception at the back of his house and has been advised to get a wireless repeater for his BT Homehub. Is this the best and cheapest solution or is there better?

I was going to recommend he use homeplugs and an extra wifi switch (without dchp) as this would effectively give him a full range hotspot at each end of his house. Is a wireless homeplug extender worth considering?

Any recommendations? Budget would be around £50-£80 I guess and would like a high speed solution.

Use a RJ45 cable, you can get them upto 30m, just tuck them under the carpet edge from router to pc, far better than wireless better broadband connection all round. The RJ45 cables are cheap just google it.

wireless repeater is easiest solution, cable probably best solution apart from the hassle.

I know RJ45 is an option but there are many drawbacks;

1. Only 1 connection point at the end of the wire unless I attach a switch
2. Lack of freedom to move a laptop around
3. Still no connection for other devices such as mobile phones
3. Wiring has to be properly fitted over doors and skirting
4. Plus imo wiring around the house looks ugly and my uncle is a stylish fella

and only 1 advantage;

1. Marginally better connection compared to wireless

Connect a wireless access point via rj45 is what we meant...and the cable connection is usually far superior to wireless matey...

By all means connect a wireless extender...you'll get twice the latency! It's not a problem...
