I've got a Microsoft Optical mouse thats usb but goes through adapter into the mouse socket is it ps2 or something? I quite often watch films and episdoes on laptop when in bed and it would be really useful to control it from there and turn the comp off etc without getting up, I know you can get wireless but thats a bit more money, I was wondering if id experience problems If I brought a couple of meter usb extension cable, will there be anything with delay or loosing power, im not really too clued up on it all

thanks for any advice

Not sure I understand this... do you sit with your laptop in bed while watching stuff on another computer? Or is the computer the laptop and that's what you want to control?

If the former you can use remote desktop software to control the other computer.

If the latter, then an extention cable shouldn't cause too much delay I'd have thought.

sorry proberly not described it very well, laptop sits on desk and I want to control it by mouse from bed

Ive never tried that myself with such a long extension, Ive used one with a 1m extension, and tbh you dont notice any difference at all.

Although you must have good eyes to see the mouse pointer on a laptop screen from bed lol! ;)

With USB cable i think the longest you can use without a special repeater is 5 meters.
So you may be able to get a 3 meter extension cable :)

Failing that you can get cordless mice, and remote controlls for PC's/laptops prety cheaply these days :)
