Extending wireless network

Hi,

I've just moved into a new house and have got hooked up with BeThere broadband.

I've got it hooked up to a DG834GT router and everything seems to be working fine; however the router is on the ground floor, and on the top floor of the house the signal is not so good.

I have an old DG834G router (think it's a v1 model); would it be possible to set that up to somehow extend the wireless signal, say if I plugged it in on the 1st floor?

Any advice would be much appreciated,

Cheers,

Redd

if your willing to run a network cable upstairs you could use the old router as a switch/access point by turning off the DHCP and plugging the downstairs router into one of the client ports.

Im not familiar with that router specificly, but some have a wireless repeater function on them.

sounds silly but try putting the aerials of *** router and reciveing pc horizontal, more of the transmission power comes out of the aerial sites than from the top, may be enough to get a better signal
