I've got a 16tb external HDD that is running my media. I've had to move it's location behind the TV but it is so noisy! Anyone recommend some solutions to try and sound proof this device? It will be a 3.5inch mechanical HDD currently in an external caddy (seagate) @ 7200rpm.

What's making the noise, whirring or clicking? Silicon isolation pads help with the clicking and whirring being transmitted to the case.

I wouldn't mind 8tb+ ssd for nas and mass storage for silence...but not spending £1000's

A lot of whirring really. I'm going to make sure low power settings are in place and set it for low audio profile but even just pulling a move from the HDD is pretty loud. Finding lots of devices from 2009/2010 external caddys with sound proofing but it's like they don't exist anymore. :|
