A friend of mine is looking for a good/decent 3.5" SATA HDD Caddie, but one that is not too expensive. Ideally he would like one that can take up to 2 extral hard disks, if such products exist.

Do you guys have any recommendations?

This seems to be the favourite recommendation at the moment

Note that despite it having a gigabit ethernet connection it will still be slower than a USB or firewire caddy. Transfer rates will be around 10-15MBytes/sec. The slow speed is basically down to the NAS chipsets used. If you want faster NAS you have to pay professional prices.

Two USB/firewire caddies would be cheaper and faster.

I didn't think the OP was asking for a NAS, just external caddies.

@Danger Phoenix: have a look for the Jou-Jye Raidbox ST-2320 S/ES and Jou-Jye ST-2320 S/U which take two drives and have an eSATA or USB interface respectively. You'll have to google for them....
