I did the same thing with a USB external drive. Trekdata 160GB, took me a little while to work out how to take it apart and the replacement 1TB drive went stright in no problems. Being esata you shouldn't even have an issue with any controllers and should be a normal desktop drive in there. One thing I did notice was that I had to use a torx t6 to 'unlock' it.
