Any recommendations on external eSata cases? I had a look through the ones OcUK sell but not sure what to go with.

I want something that I can plonk the 3.5" drive in to and it will plug in the eSata port on the back of my PC!

That's as good as any. It'll take both IDE or SATA drives but if you want to use eSATA you'll need to use a SATA disk. Only issue is that to swap to USB you need to open it up and swap a cable over.

EDIT: Actually, check out the IcyDock one towards the bottom of the page, it's come down in price a fair bit. It's the one I use and it lets you jump between eSATA and USB without doing anything to the unit.

The Akasa Integral is what I got just a few days ago to go with a new Samsung 1TB F1 hard disk. The build quality on the enclosure is very nice and I had everything up and running in just 5mins. It comes with a little transparent plastic stand too.

I can post a pic of it's rear later when I get home.

second that, very good, also if you want to switch form esata to USB, there is a switch on the back, no need to open it up

get yourself an icybox 390 series, just got myself one, for £20 new

eSata (and sata power connector!) / usb2 + wall power lead.

freakin bargin, looks nicer than all other external drives too

I just had a look at a review of the 390 series and it looks great. I was looking at the 290 series (2.5") last week and thought they look rather nice too!
