External Firewire - Simultaneous use?

Hi guys,

I have an external firewire lacie drive and was wondering if I would be able to use it simultaneously between my mac and pc, i.e. plugged into the pc from the lacie, and plugged into the mac from the other firewire port on the lacie. Would I be able to mount it on both machines and run it without problems? Thanks.

No, I believe that you are only supposed to have one connection to a PC at one given time. In order to do what you are looking to do, you need a NAS that uses Ethernet connections, and connect it to a hub to share it with more than 1 PC at one given time.

the above or Share it off of one of the PCs and connect via network.
