External Hard Drive for Music Tech course

Hello there.

I am starting University next week and I am in need of an External Hard Drive to back up all my university work. I currently use a PC at home and the computers at University are Apple Macs so I would need a Hard Drive with USB and Firewire capabilities.

There are quite a few Hard Drives to choose from. I was just wondering if anyone has had a good experince with a certain Hard Drive which they could recommend? I will be taking this Hard Drive with me all the time so portable, easy to carry around would be a bonus really. Basically an External Hard Drive that can last three years of University life!

I guess about 150 would be a maximum, maybe more if it's worth it

I have a PC at home and use Mac's at University. Will it be ok to use this external hard drive on both a PC and a Mac without any problems?
