External hard drive for smart tv

So I'd like to watch films and such on my smart tv via usb pen drive/external hard drive (if possible)

Anyone got any suggestions of good/reasonable priced storage facility's, I could use for this

Bigger he better but price is factor around £50 quid

£40-£50 will get you a 1tb portable HD (usb powered) I use one of these on my lg smart tv and it works well!

...not usb powered drives you havn't, lowest is £70. You might be looking at desktop drives that run an external power supply.

your better off buying a usb hdd dock and separate regular pc hdd 2tb+

bought this after a Toshiba HDD failed to work with my Panasonic ST50 plasma.

you can pick one up for £50 works a treat.

Im only wanting is to plug in from a laptop transfer data then plug in tv

I'd consider just getting a big thumbdrive. It's a bit awkward having a 2.5" portable drive hanging off the back of the TV, plus some TVs don't seem to provide enough power to get the drive going.
