External Hard Drive problem

Im trying to transfer a file from my laptop to my External Hard Drive (Seagate 1tb) which has over 700gb free space however im getting a message saying the file is too large for the destination file its only a 5gb file can anyone point me in the right direction? :confused:

Is there another way of increasing the maximum file size I use the drive on other systems TV for media etc cheers.

if its used for media and data, and the tv does not support it, then partion it, so you have FAT32 for media and NTFS for large data files.
if its just for media, then might need to look at a different way of encoding the files so they are smaller.

Thats the answer I was looking for didn't know I could partition it with 2 file systems going to give that a bash as I need fat 32 for media etc thanks.

In the end reformatted and it let me increase the maximum file size so staying in Fat 32 thanks for your help with this one.
