External Hard Drive Question

Hi,

Just ordered a Western Digital MyBook Studio 500GB. I was just wondering, if I were to stick it on my desk and say plug my mac into firewire and the usb into my pc. Could they both access the hard drive at the same time or can I only have one plugged in at a time?

Both machines would be trying to access the drive, therefore causing you issues. they put a firewire and usb port on the back to give you a choice, as far as i know.
