Help please

Does anyone know if its possible to buy a cheapish external hard drive which i can dump loads of movies on and just plug into my tv a watch?

There are a few media boxes out there - Buffalo is the manufacturer which springs to mind. However these are designed to sit under the TV like a DVD player and just grab content off a home LAN so need a PC on as well.

HD enclosures are cheap, £15-£20. Just add a HD 3.5" into it. Cheap.
Media boxes with HD are not exactly cheap, probably around £150+? Tivo etc.

There are portable hard drives with software/video decoding features, but they're not cheap. You need more than a hard drive and a video socket to output videos. Processing and video boards.

Maxtor - bricks

You're looking at a hundred quid at least. Quick search has this no idea if it's ok

"Freecom MediaPlayer-35 (80 GB) Digital Media Player" £117-170
