Hey guys,
I've been considering for a while now about replacing my current desktop setup for a notebook instead to gain some extra space in my room...
I've been looking at different configurations and I have a question on external hard drives.
My thoughts are to get a laptop with a small SSD inside (maybe 64GB/128GB) and using it just primarily for the operating system and other system files. I would then get an external hard drive (something around 500GB/1 TB) and use that for all other files.
My question is...
Are external hard drives fast enough these days to use as a primary hard drive (baring in mind I will fill it up with my games and music etc)?
Also - will I get much of an advantage out of using SSD for the system files? (ie will it boot faster etc)
Thanks!
Marky
