Right, I need to back up family photos on the home pc but I don't have a ext renal harddrive and I don't really know what exactly I need. I thought I could use the Buffalo portable harddrive, but I've seen reviews by people who say that after a while the harddrive would just fail :S
I'm hoping someone can suggest a harddrive that's reliable. As for the size, something up to 500GB at about £50-£60'ish, if that's possible?

I use Lacie drives myself. Have not a clue what HDD is in it but it's still going 6 years down the line. It's probably Western Digital
