External HDD Fat32

Got a couple of external hdd at work and we are needing to store files over 4 gigs on them so we need them to be NTFS it is a western digital 80 external usb2.0 hdd just wondering if it would be ok to format like that or if it would cause any problems?

NTFS is fine, but you can only use the drive on a Win2000 or XP machine as Win98 cannot read NTFS drives.
