Hey,

I've been pondering for a while now to get an external HDD as their isn't much left in my PC-7 case for anything else as It's packed with Watercooling/Wires etc.

so I'm looking for an external HDD that I can store my films on. My Desk is cluttered with Film cases so I'm looking at clearing up space by just having an external HDD with them stored on.

I'm ideally looking for 500gb HDD that i can store them on or more and I'm ideally looking on spending £60/£70.

So is it worth paying for eSATA or should i just go with USB?

USB is the cheaper option and the slower option, however eSATA can deliver quite faster speeds and can sometimes be only a couple of £'s more (less then £10 sometimes). Most HD's have a USB version and an eSATA version, just compare the two prices and think whether or not its worth upgrading. The cheapest one i can see is the "Seagate 500GB External Hard Drive USB, FireWire & eSATA" for ~£87 whereas the USB only version is £64 which you can find here

If you are strict on your budget i would much rather get the USB version.

As it's just going to be a mass storage drive, performance is pretty much a non-issue, and you may as well save a few quid and go for USB.

Cheers, I may as well just go for USB then. I've seen a 750gb USB HDD for £70 (Mybook) which is what i wanted.

Cheers for the input.
