Hey all, I hope someone can give some good advice. Basically I'm trying to access an old 120GB 3.5" IDE drive on my laptop using an external powered IDE to USB 2 enclosure. It shows up in My Computer after converting from dynamic to basic MBR with AOMEI but states "is not accessible" if I try to access it. It was working the last time I pulled it from a machine about 4 years back... Any ideas??

Cheers Huddy, had completely forgotten about the jumpers! I tried it in the external USB caddy on several desktops a week or so back to no avail, and I no longer have a machine with an IDE socket onn the mobo.

I tried the various combinations of jumper positions for slave etc (on my laptop) but it still wouldn't let me access the drive, though it would let me try and copy the contents of the external drive, and in doing so and failing to let me copy each listed folder I realised I have copied the contents of the drive to another SATA drive previously... so although I can't access the data on the 120Gb IDE drive isn't usable it's no longer a problem. Thanks again.
